SCALING CALIFORNIA’S REGENERATIVE ALMOND PRACTICES
The Scaling California’s Regenerative Almond Practices (SCRAP) Initiative began in 2023. It fosters pre-competitive “collective impact” collaboration across the value chain—from growers, processors, to buyers—to accelerate the adoption of regenerative practices on tree nut acreage in California. In 2024 participants agreed to expand SCRAP beyond almonds to include other tree nut production, such as pistachios and walnuts - hence, the initiative’s name today, SCRAP+.
